About us

Ambition, guided.

Menés Academy exists for one reason: in European admissions, the students who lose out are rarely the least capable. They are the least well advised.

Our story

It starts with a familiar rejection.

A strong student applies to an Italian public university. Good grades, real motivation, a fundable profile. Months later the answer comes back — and it has nothing to do with their ability. The Declaration of Value went to the wrong consulate. The scholarship closed in April, long before any offer letter existed. A date on the pre-enrolment didn't match the passport.

None of these are academic failures. They are administrative ones, and they are entirely preventable by someone who has seen them before.

We built Menés Academy around that observation. The name comes from the laurel wreath in our mark — the corona di alloro Italian graduates still wear on the day they defend their thesis. It is worn at the end. Everything we do is aimed at getting students to the point where they can wear it.

In practice

What that means day to day

  • 1We start with a free assessment and an honest verdict, including when that verdict is discouraging.
  • 2We take responsibility for deadlines, not just advice about them.
  • 3We treat the scholarship as part of the application, because for most families it decides whether the place is usable at all.
  • 4We stay past arrival, through the paperwork that follows you into your first month.
Principles

Four commitments we can be held to.

Honesty first

A realistic no is worth more than an encouraging maybe. We would rather lose a client than take a fee for an application we expect to fail.

Access, not exclusivity

Europe's public universities are among the most affordable in the world. The barrier is information, and information is what we exist to remove.

Transparency

Fees in writing before you commit, instalments tied to milestones, and a portal showing exactly what has and hasn't happened.

Follow-through

The visa is a milestone, not the finish line. Our work ends when you are enrolled, housed and registered.

The team

Who you'll be working with.

A small team of admissions advisors and visa specialists, with staff based both in North Africa and in Italy. Every student is assigned one named advisor who owns the file end to end.

We're building the team as we grow. If you've worked in international admissions, consular affairs or student services in Italy, we'd like to hear from you.
